A young woman enters, looking around mildly curiously. She has one hand on her stomach and glances down at it, a bit perplexed, and then pauses. It's clear she has seen better days -- her clothing was once fashionable and fine, but now it's quite mended and a little dirty. She speaks, finally, looking confused

Mark has Gracie with him today. She's a bright-eyed little girl, a bit over a year old. She's babbling softly to herself, playing with Mark's hair and glasses. Mark's laughing quietly at her, but he notices Melena come in and wanders over nearer to her.

"Hi, can I help you?"

She gives him a speculative look -- not precisely handsome, but cute enough to garner a rather flirtatious smile. "That all depends, I suppose. Where have I ended up?"

He shifts Gracie to his other hip and smiles back - he's generally oblivious to subtle flirtation. "This is the Mansion. Um... it's sort of a place people wander into from their worlds."

He pauses. "Wait, Quadling... are you from Oz?"

"I am." She gives a pout at that. "I used to live in Colwen Grounds, I expect you know it, but --" An even more pronounced, flirty pout. "I'm afraid I haven't been there in quite some time."

Elphaba's passing by, sees her, and doubletakes. She freezes, shocked and silent.

Melena looks over and blinks, a little wide-eyed. "...Elphaba?"

"...Mother?"

[nesthardingrose]

"Well, who else would it be?" Melena's apparently a bit snippy when she's surprised.

Look, it's a pregnant lady! And she's wearing Ozian clothes, amazingly. Not that Melena's like to recognize them - they're Arjiki. Nice, but servicable.

"Are you new, honey?"

We're willing to bet she doesn't, but she'll give April a mildly demure curtsey.

"I suppose you could say that, yes."

April gets herself into a standing position (damn comfy couches) and smiles. "Well, welcome, then. I'm April."

She offers her hand for shaking.

Melena shakes the offered hand, smiling. "Thank you. I'm Melena Thropp."

Caradenus is pretty enough, and reasonably polite.

"You've lost a husband?" he asks.

[nesthardingrose]

"Not precisely lost," a bit distractedly. "More misplaced."

"Do you think he's around here anywhere?"
