I Was Abducted By Aliens!

Why have I, the girl who normally posts so regularly that it probably verges on the annoying, not posted for the past week? The answer my friends, is that I have been in Holland, MI. More specifically at my girlfriend's house, a.k.a. the pit of doom for cellular service and wireless connection when it comes to Athena (my laptop). It has, however, been an absolutely fantastic week that I have enjoyed immensely.

New Year's Eve went over very well - everyone who hadn't met Lee loved Lee, and those who had met her before had fun. She brought over the drawings I asked her to make for my grandparent's and great-grandma and they absolutely loved them. Especially Grandpa Dick with the drawing of a deer. He was amazed. But why wouldn't he be? My grandpa is made of awesome, Lee's drawings are made of awesome, and putting the two together only produces a more awesome effect.

The drive across the state on Tuesday was a little... slippery, and very slow. Over four hours for a drive that normally takes less than three, but at least we only went sideways once and didn't end up in a ditch like at least seven other cars. When we finally did get to her house, I was shocked when Gerry (her mom) handed me a bag with a present! It was a tanktop undershirt along with a really nice blue Aeropostale sweater. Totally didn't see that coming. Nor did I forsee, though I expected, the awesomeness of Lee's friends. I got to meet Brenden and Maggie on Thursday; Pizza and Heather on Friday; and Kumo on Saturday. Also on Friday Lee and I went over to Maggie's to make chocolate chip cookies and watch the insane marathon on America's Next Top Model, which we also watched all day Saturday. Yes, I am serious, I actually started watching the show and ended up liking it despite the previous opinion that it would probably suck.

Oh - on Thursday Lee and I went to downtown Holland for lunch at this cute little place called Froggy's and a tour of the gorgeous downtown area. I can totally see that it's a conservative area and all, but that doesn't mean it isn't very pretty. And tomorrow me, Lee and Maggie are supposed to hit up the Olive Garden over in Grandville, along with the mall! Completely looking forward to that, haven't had Olive Garden or real mall experience since this summer.

Best part of the week: insane amounts of snuggles and kisses in the might-as-well-be-a-regular-floor basement that is Lee's area of residence. Also love the Wii, the huge television, and staring at the sixty plus collection of panda bears that is apparently Boy's. It'll be sad times to go back to Saginaw on Tuesday, but at least I know that the weekend will bring reunion with Lee and all my other friends back at Northern! Miss you guys way too much!
