I was at Grant Park on Election Night. I'd been election judging in the DG, so I didn't get to the park until late. Coming out of Union Station there was a river of people streaming down Jackson to the park...so I just jumped in. Fall is really v. beautiful here in Hyde Park (even though the last two days have really been summer not fall). Yesterday I went for a run on the lake shore trail. I would never want to be president, American dream aside (and my general inviability as a liberal woman atheist candidate aside). There is so much that you're supposed to juggle. To me lots of the feminists who are in such a flap about Palin are missing the point. There is no need to angst about how you are torn between voting for a legitimate woman contender for a powerful position, and how that woman herself is not a "feminist" ideal, does not support abortion, etc ( Read more... )

Aghhh, I'm so tired of the Democratic race right now. It's been dragging on for a year and will just continue to drag on, and the Texas/Ohio Clinton wins mean it won't end gracefully. I just can't see how it's going to end well, you know?
