I grew up on the original and it is clearly a rip off of cowboys while being whitewashed horror. the fact that they are remaking it the way they are is only more problematic to me.

From what I've read, it's not a straight remake - they won't be the same characters, so there'll be no Chris and Vin etc. Which makes it a kinda M7 AU, I suppose! But I feel better about that because I can still exist in my happy bubble with my Mag7 boys and not worry about comparing them!
Hee! I understand your concern. But then I realized we weren't even worried about the same previous Mag. Seven. I didn't know there was a TV show. So I'm nodding and thinking ... okay, Denzel...go for it. It might work. It's time. Maybe... We'll see....
Haha, yes! There was a TV show back in, oh, 1998, I think? It ran for only two seasons but it had a great cast - Michael Biehn, Eric Close, Ron Perlman, Laurie Holden - and I LOVED it, oh I loved loved loved it. It is the show of my heart, and I shipped the two leads, Chris and Vin, played by Michael Biehn and Eric Close like you wouldn't believe.
LOL Had no idea. I guess I was probably too busy then with work and kid stuff to watch much TV. But the original Mag. 7 is definitely one of my favorite movies. One of only a few that I have watched more than once. (Not lately, but...) I think I've seen the Seven Samurai too, but that would have been so long ago I don't remember it.
