1. iPhone. It actually amazes me how we coped all those years without smartphones. And not so long ago either! I suppose we didn't know any better - but the thought of being without it now leaves me cold. It's less the phone aspect than everything else - it's my map/satnav, internet, email, my music player, calendar, my camera...
2. My Kindle. Once upon a time I was strictly a book girl. I didn't like the idea of ebooks at all - it just wasn't the same! But then my brother bought me a Kindle for my birthday a few years ago and I've scarcely looked back. I love it. And I've found my reading has widen considerably as a result - I read more, I read faster and I read titles I never would have bought physically.
3. Cupcakes! The thought of a world without cupcakes just isn't worth living in.
4. My kitties. I've had cats as long as I've lived on my own, and I can't imagine not having my little furry terrors in the house with me. People who don't have pets may laugh, but they are company. I talk to them all the time, and they absolutely respond. Sure, they're an expense and a worry, and I don't appreciate being woken at 4am, or having to clean up poop or vomit or disembowelled or decapitated corpses, but I wouldn't be without them.
5. My family. Yeah, cliché, I know. But we're quite a close family, both my immediate family with my parents and my brother, and my extended family. My parents only live a mile or so down the road, so I see them all the time, and my brother is only an hour away. I see him every few weeks or so. We have regular meet-ups with aunts and uncles and cousins throughout the year, and quite often we spend Christmas en famille as well. My grandparents are all dead, sadly, but I'm still very fortunate.
