[2011.06.24-26] Waku Waku Gakkou: THANK YOU
In Ohno’s class “Moshi Moshi”, with the message being “thank your loved ones properly”, members each gave a short speech to thank one selected member for every session. The second session of 2011.06.26 where they thanked Ohno is included in disc 3 of Beautiful World tour. Please do not repost without permission.

Sakurai: I’m thankful towards Matsujun for… when I was filming my first starring drama “Yoiko no Mikata”, it was during winter, very cold, and nearing my birthday. Of course, I received very good presents from the other 3 members as well, but Matsujun gave me earmuffs, gloves and things which come in handy during location shooting. Honestly, I was struggling with exams at that time and was pretty worn out, but this warmth… this physically-felt and emotional warmth… it really kept me going. To such a caring Matsujun, thank you.
Ninomiya: Jun-kun, well this is… speaking of this, no it’s not some kinda theme, but how I came to call you “Jun-kun”, there’s a reason to it. Jun-kun entered 1 month before me, but since then we have been together for 15 years straight, and not even once have I looked down on you (because he’s younger) from below, ah no, from above… I have always respected you a lot. That is because of your strong traits, and after the formation of Arashi, Matsujun who is always taking care of concert and event matters, I respect you and am grateful for your existence every day. Thank you!
Aiba: Matsumoto Jun-kun. I’m thankful for your contributions towards Arashi’s concerts. I always mess up my costumes, taking them off when I shouldn’t and keep them on when I should’ve taken them off… it happened so often. Of course there were times when I did everything right too. You were always looking at me during performance from the perspective of an audience, watching over me, sometimes when our eyes meet, there are times when I wondered “perhaps he likes me?”. Matsumoto-kun, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please take care of my outfits too in the future. Thank you.
Ohno: Matsujun. About 5 years ago when I was acting in a stage play, I hurt my throat when I was acting, and at that time we were doing an Arashi program together, you didn’t say anything to me but went all the way home and brought medication for me from your house. You said “it’s fine, just use it”. I didn’t even mention a word yet you noticed, thanks to you everything turned out well right till the last show. I’m thankful for that even no. Really, thank you so much!

Sakurai: I am thankful for Nino’s composure during variety programs. When… things get a little difficult, you would sneak around and softly give instructions, thus making things funny again. I think it is because of Nino that everything ends up well. Nino, thank you.
Aiba: To Ninomiya Kazunari-kun. We’ve been together nearly 16 years including the period when we were still Johnny’s juniors, since we take the same train, we would travel together to attend lessons every day, and because of that, we hung out together a lot. Baseball, sometimes golf, bowling, batting center, you accompanied me everywhere; but there’s this one place that you wouldn’t come with me no matter how hard I tried to persuade you. That is, a few years back on New Year’s Day, I had a day off and when I heard that Ninomiya-kun is also off, showing all my love and sincerity I invited Ninomiya-kun, with whom I feel the most comfortable to come with me to this place which I want to go the most - Thailand, to watch Muay Thai. That was the only time you said no. Let’s go and watch Muay Thai together next time. Ninomiya-kun thank you.
Matsumoto: Ninomiya Kazunari-san. I think that you are very observant towards many things. Even while playing games and while talking to people, you are always watching people’s response and thinking quickly of how you would react in return. When the 5 of us are together, I often talk in a very serious tone and cause the atmosphere to turn heavy, when that happens Nino will make jokes and help change the situation to a light-hearted one. I love that atmosphere. I am very comforted by the atmosphere you bring out. From now on, please continue making us laugh with this distinct style of Nino’s. Thank you for everything.
Ohno: Ninemiya (Nino: Excuse me I’m Ninomiya). Since our debut, your urge to touch me hasn’t changed a bit. You would touch my butt and try holding my hands. Honestly, there was a time when I hated every second of it, but you just kept touching me even till this day. But, I do think about it sometimes, that if one day you stop touching me, how lonely I would become. For this skinship that continued till this day, I’m counting on you too from now on.

Sakurai: What I’m thankful towards Aiba-kun for. You are “rokedaisukenin”. Which means that you are someone who loves location shooting. Joining me as a boat passenger, we rode on boats made of salt, blocks, kelp, and paper. And at those locations, while I was still busy preparing myself, you were always outside alone eating fried chicken. When I go for location shooting with you, even I get hyped up along with you. Let’s go boat rowing together again some time!
Ninomiya: Aiba-shi! I have spent such a long time with Aiba-shi. We’ve travelled home together, ate ramen together, travelled to work together. Recalling back, I can’t remember a thing. All I know is that Aiba-shi has always been beside me. It’s just that… I can’t recall a thing. For these empty about-15 years, thank you so much.
Matsumoto: To Aiba Masaki-kun. Thank you for everything. Recently, our dome tour DVD has just been released, there was an interview session included. I recorded the interview the last among everyone, and the director told me that Aiba-kun mentioned about Matsujun. “Though I would often have meals with friends, we don’t really have the chance to go and eat together among members” apparently you said that. “I would love to go out with him some time, please invite him for me” this is what the director told me. I was very happy, because for 15 years we’ve been together, I’m sure there are some things which we didn’t say because we’re together, and also some things which we couldn’t bring ourselves to say. I would like to say them out when we dine together in private, and it so happens that Aiba-kun mentioned it during his interview… so I’m really happy. Though it hasn’t come true yet, I hope that we can go together by summer. Call me, and let’s go together. Thank you for everything! May I have your favour in the future too.
Ohno: Aiba-chan! Though we didn’t do this often, we sometimes drink together at the hotel during concert tours. And when we do, the both of us would be saying “it’s so great to be in Arashi” while crying. I love that atmosphere. So, let’s do it again, let’s say “it’s really so great to be in Arashi” and cry our hearts out, just the 2 of us. Thank you… for always crying with me.

Matsumoto: To Sakurai Sho-kun. What I think about you. By Matsumoto Jun. Sakurai-kun writes the rap lyrics of Arashi songs. When we first debuted, you’ve been rapping lyrics which was written by someone else, but since then, you wrote lyrics and rapped to your own writings. Seeing you write Arashi’s rap lyrics, I would think “ah~ that’s so cool” and things like “wow it’s so well-written”. Our songs, which the 5 of us sing together, we don’t really write our own lyrics, so I think our words and messages are being conveyed through Sakurai-kun’s rap lyrics. Because of your raps, Arashi songs are more Arashi-like, that’s what I think. Sakurai-kun’s raps, I’ve always thought they were amazing. Please continue putting Arashi spirit into Arashi songs through Sakurai-kun’s rap. Thank you for everything. May I have your favour in the future too.
Aiba: To Sakurai Sho-kun. Among members, you were the only one whom I went shopping with before, We went to Roppongi Hills, chose outfits, “hey Sho-chan look look! This suits you!” “ooh you look good in that”. It was so much fun. Sho-kun would always think of us, saying “this is for the members” “members’ souvenirs” you would order T-shirts and stuff, giving us many things. I love it that you care so much about us. Well… I’m actually supposed to thank you but I ended up saying what I like about you. Anyway I better get going now.
Ninomiya: To Sakurai Sho-kun. I’m thankful for… I’m… thankful… for? (pretends not to remember) Um… it’s everything. Sakurai-san, seriously speaking, I think he is the one who brings out Arashi’s warmth. That is why, every time we have a new program, we can count on him on the first episode. Even the adults around us thinks he gives off the sense of security, that’s what I gather by looking at him from the side. Arashi’s sense of security, Sakurai Sho! Thank you very much!
Ohno: Sho-chan! (like a young child calling out to his play mate, Sho tries to conceal his laugh by covering his mouth) When we’re working, thank you for always letting me read the newspaper. Because of Sho-chan, I get to know a lot of new things happening in the world. I even get to know about the newest fishing information. I’m so thankful. I’m counting on you for more newspapers in the future. Thank you for everything.

Matsumoto: What I’m thankful towards Ohno Satoshi-kun for. By Matsumoto Jun. It’s been 12 years since we debuted, and longer if we count junior days… When we first debuted, when the group Arashi was first formed, honestly I was troubled as to how I should treat Leader. Although we have travelled home together before, but being in the same group is just… You were my senior before that, I don’t know how I should face this person, that’s what I thought at that time. But even then, Leader has already graciously accepted me as I am, all of me. You were such a kind soul. We Arashi have been told by many people “wow you’re close huh”, that they get happy when they see us, that they feel empowered by us; for me, it is because our leader is Ohno Satoshi that we can become such a group. You don’t push your thoughts on others, but instead you listen to everyone and say “alright let’s do that”, even when you face your worst fears, you can still keep calm and carry on; because we have someone like this as our leader, Arashi can become the group it is today. Leader, I really thank you for everything. Thank you.
Sakurai: To Ohno-kun. Ohno-kun sends mails to me occasionally. After “Zero”, I would receive your mails. “Sho-kun, you look great today too” “Sho-kun, you did well today too”. Well honestly I don’t really care about how well I did, but no matter how many years I’ve worked in this field, I feel encouraged to know that someone is watching me. It is not wrong to say that these occasional mails are my driving force. Ohno-kun, thank you for the occasional mails you send. By Sakurai Sho.
Aiba: To Oh-chan. When I have the chance to travel around, I would bring back souvenirs, though they’re mostly T-shirts. Oh-chan is the only one among the members who would definitely wear them. Honestly I’ve never seen anyone else besides Ohno-kun wear them, and I’m very happy when I see you wear one. It’s not just that I bought them, but I feel that my thoughts have been conveyed. Recently I always see you wearing the T-shirt that says “Bhutan”, I get really happy each time I see it. Some time ago, though it’s not T-shirt but a jigsaw puzzle set that I bought for everyone, Leader you were the first one to finish it too. I love this about Leader. Leader thank you for everything. Ninomiya: To Ohno-san. It’s been about 15 years since I’ve known Ohno-san, inclusive of junior years. After forming Arashi for 12 years, you never said yes no matter how hard I tried to ask you out for a meal. But the other day together with J, well I joined in halfway, the 3 of us finally did had a chance to dine together. We really had fun talking about the future, about work, about our current situation, we talked a lot. Then the next day, I had the chance to dine with you again. To be able to dine with you twice in a row, that’s the first time since I was born into this world. But, when we were alone, we had nothing to say. Then, I thought over it, when I went home. This means, I have nothing else to say to you. At work, while travelling, everywhere and anywhere, I have already told you everything I wanted to say. You are very precious to me. To find someone whom I can say everything to, it’s easier said than done. Though we didn’t say anything while we dined together, I can still remember what a precious moment it was for me. I suppose the next time we dine together would take another 12 years, but when we finally do again, let’s just keep each other company without saying a word while we eat. Satopi, thank you!
