Attempting To Put The "Whee" Back In "Ennui"

Jun 14, 2007 13:07

(Man, I can't believe I missed Blog Like It's The End Of The World Day!! I always miss out on all the cool stuff. *grumbly face*
Next year, bitches. Just you wait. Zombie-riffic fun will be mine.)

So. As of today it has been officially one week since I got back from college.
Grades have come in (two As and a C-, which is great, but still not enough to fix my GPA to keep my scholarship. Craaap).
Haven't accomplished much...caught up with the friends, been out shopping (H&M will soon consume my soul I'm sure of it), went to a bonfire, got mildly readdicted to the Sims, been looking for a place to get a job at but it's not looking so hot...

Haven't written a single damn thing.

(I think at this point I just need to stop procrastinating and get to work. I keep getting the feeling like if I just sat down and opened the freaking Word file I could actually get some work done; I just have problems actually getting myself to do that.)

There is a person I know in real life who has already started to become so annoying I find myself actually idly fantasizing about setting them on fire.

I wish I still had money to burn. I saw a really cute dress at Dott's for fifteen dollars. And a cute shirt for nine. And they had some solid color tees for five...

I should be doing some volunteering at the Museum lab again this summer. At the very least, I'm signed up to do another field school with them at the Danbury site during the Fourth of July week.

I wish I had some idea what the hell I wanted to do with myself this summer. I'm already getting bored...

Also, this upcoming Monday will be my twentieth birthday. Goodbye teenage years, hello offical young adulthood. Curious.
I'll be "celebrating" with my parents and grandmother on Monday proper, and then having an afternoon-to-evening party with my friends on either Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on what works for people. The plan thus far is lunch at Tommy's, walking around on Coventry, Fantastic Four movie, and ice cream at Coldstone.

If, for any reason, anyone wants to write something for me as present but hasn't been able to come up with an idea, consider this post your carte blanche for popping up and asking for a prompt.
(Note: this is NOT me begging for presents/attention in the form of fics. If you weren't planning on writing anything for me before, don't start thinking you're obligated now or anything stupid like that. This is just in case you already wanted to but got stuck.)

Honestly, I think the best present I could get would be feedback, since we all know how much of a slut I am for that.
If you want to do a little something for me on my birthday...read one of my fics you've never read before, and leave a comment. Or, barring that, go back to a fic of mine you particularly enjoyed and leave a more in-depth comment.

If my inbox was full of new fic comment notifications come June 18th? It would be most definitely the best birthday present ever.
