Alas, I had to say goodbye to my little car....

I took the car in November for a smog check, which it passed on emission and not due to timing. So because I had to go to a Smog-Only Test Center, I was able to apply to the California Consumer Assistance Program http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/stdpage.asp ( Read more... )

Man, that sucks! That poor thing had been going for ages, though -- I think it's fair to say you got your money's worth.

Are you on spring break now? Do you even have time to look for a new old car?

Yay sun!

I can't believe you don't get any break between classes. I'd go nutsola.

I'm moving to Sacramento sometime before I start my 3rd year/hospital rotations. The UCDavis Medical Center is in Sacramento...and it would be a pain to drive back and forth between Sac and where I live on days where I am on call overnight or have to be there at 4:00 am or 5:00 am to pre-round on my patients.

Bon voyage, little car. wwolfe March 3 2006, 22:30:20 UTC
Happy memories are brought to mind by the thought of that little car.

And regarding your grandmother: I'd say you inherited quite a bit of her character, based on what you've written about her in your Live Journal.

Yeah, I miss the car. I should be getting a new "old" car soon, but I still miss tooling around on the old one, especially since I now have to learn to drive stick (manual or 5-speed) for the new one.

It's a useful life-skill, I'll admit, but after years of not having to do anything with my left foot, it's gonna take some time to get that leg used to having to do stuff...like all the time.

Thanks for the compliment on my granny's character. =)
