Thaw pork neck roast, homemade tomato sugo and kangaroo mince.
Harvest and prep artichokes from scarily happy artichoke triplets in garden.
Prep leeks and harvest lettuce from cheerful doomed plants in garden.
Prep Torbay asparagus and blanch for dinner.

Fridge is now full.

I made a vegetarian version of this West African peanut soup, subbing vegetarian sausage dice for the chicken breast. I also threw in a few vegan stock cubes. It came out more stewlike than a soup, and very satisfying ( Read more... )

I have been learning a few things about going vegetarian. Never really appreciated how much harder it was to do than I thought. I keep getting frustrated that my first peckish impulses all involve meat, and I'm getting sick of cheese and egg. (Never thought I would see the day, honestly.) Broke my new weeding tool. The one I bought yesterday. Worked nicely while it lasted though. Had to hack my way into the thicket with pruning shears first to clear myself some space to work. Alas the woody stems resisted everything I had. May have to cut everything else off and leave the stump in situ.
