My favorite little Swede Linus Omark has now played 12 games for Lulea HF in the Swedish Elite League. He's third in team scoring with 5-3-8 and a +1 rating.
In the off-season I read of some conditioning issues but they were not entirely founded and clearly, he's unaffected by it. Unfortunately, the team is not doing very well and are currently sitting beneath the relegation line, but it's still early in the season.
Last year, Omark ended the season as one of the more consistant forwards on Lulea and played a large role in keeping them in Elitserien. This could be a breakout year for him in Sweden, but it's unclear how that will translate to the NHL- Fabian Brunnstrom had similar stats but is bigger than Omark, who is nothing short of petite at 5'9" 168lbs. He does play a big man's game, though, as he is very strong on the puck and on the boards, and plays pretty gritty as far as the European style goes.
Linus has said that he believes he will be ready to make the jump to North America next year.
