The Edmonton Oilers are now 3-0-0 after a win against their provincial rivals, the Calgary Flames. We scored three powerplay goals in the second period to lift us to a 4-3 win. Awesome.
We've been getting better and better every game. There were no lulls in our game like there have been in the previous two, our faceoff percentage is way up (56%), our PP is one of the early best in the league and so is the PK. Also, we have a young goaltender in Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers who at times showed flashes of brilliance, and with his first win in his first game, looks like he might be making a big statement towards becoming the #2.
I don't feel like recapping the game today, so I'm gonna skip that.
STANDOUTS:
The Kid Line
Really, I just want to talk about these guys. Very solid defensively, Cogs and Gags were both over 50% on the faceoff dot, Cogs and Nils both had goals, and while Sam hasn't shown it on the scoresheet, he's playing a big part in a number of the goals scored. He was among the rookie leaders in shots last year, but he's shooting even more now and I'm really happy. He hasn't got a point yet, but I know they'll come. I don't think he's snakebitten or anything.
Notes:
Sam Gagner was injured late in the third period (toe?) and is questionable for tomorrows game. Sheldon Souray injured his knee in a collision with Todd Bertuzzi and will not play on Saturday.
