The two Greek girls had calmed Re down by a sight. He relaxed a little, his body language changing from 'I'm gonna fuck a nigga up' to 'aight, I'm listenin'.'

Ruina wasn't datin' nobody. She had a crush.

Now a crush was a different thing. Dating for a little girl her age was damn near obscene, no matter what she looked like. But a crush? Now that was just plain normal. (Well, not so normal that it was on a Greek, but he'd deal with that later.) Crushin' on unavailable older boys was what little girls did, and it was only right that a cute little half-breed Egyptian goddess like herself would start moonin' sometime.

But then, Ruina started talking again, and steam heat started filling Re again. His fists clenched, his back tensed, and he said with the politest mothafuckin' smile on his face,

"Oh... so he kissed you, baby girl, just ta use you so you could hook him up with his ex-girl? Oh, that's cute," he ground out. "That's real cute. Lemme guess, this nigga prolly got a baby momma callin' for chile support that he

"No, no!" Hope protested. "Strife doesn't have any baby mamas! He'd have told us about that... I'm sure he didn't mean to lead her on or manipulate her..."

But then, Dei was home.

Dei was home, Dei was home, Dei was home...! She tried to keep her focus, but bilocating was harder for her than it seemed like it was for a lot of people, and so she turned apologetically to the rest of the group.

"I'm very sorry, but something... important just came up."

She looked at Ate really apologetically.

Sis, I've got to go. Dei's home. And I swear I'm not just being gooey and stupid... he might know something, right? I'm sorry, 'Te... don't kill me. I'll get in touch as soon as I'm done talking to him.

With that, she looked at her host and said,

"I'm really sorry. I swear, Strife is a great guy. I think Ruina might just be a little confused."

Then she waved to everyone and disappeared.

What the hell? Hope drags her off on this strange quest in the middle of her soaps, and is going to leave her high and fucking dry because her boyfriend came home? Ate started to say something back to her sister, but then she disappeared to quickly.... So she settled for cosmically smacking her upside the head from afar as she turned to face Re on her own

Rinna just stared at Re. What did he just say? Did he and Seth take Weird Language 101? What was a 'baby momma'? The Greeks seemed to know, but Rinna was clueless. And what was it that Strife wanted her to take care of, too? Ruina just gave Re a "WTF?" look, but then Ate got in her face and she forgot all about what Mr. Sun was saying. Or trying to say.

Who did this bitch think she was, talking to her like that? What the FOOK did she know about anything?! She didn't! She didn't! She couldn't...

Rinna bounced back and forth between heartache and anger, and couldn't make up her mind about which one she more strongly felt. It made talking difficult. Finally she decided being angry was the best route, and would have opened her big mouth and told this stupid sister-of-Strife's just what to go and do, but...

But Re looked ready to throttle all of them already. And despite the fact that she absoutely hated this overpompous ass, he still made her nervous.

She'd had enough.

"You're just... you're not.. you're wrong!" Rinna sputtered

Re looked at Ate with dark amusment. This little white girl sure had some spunk.

"Oh, you're gonna need to draw the line, are you, shorty?" Re snorted. "Honey, if I wanted to jack your brother up, I'm thinkin' there wouldn't be a whole hell of a lot you could do about it. You gonna have to forgive me," he said for politeness' sake, "if whatever drama your brother been through the past few months ain't of no concern to me. What is of concern to me is him toyin' with a little girl's emotions, especially when that little girl is my kin."

Before he could continue in that vein, Ruina had bolted out of the temple, and his eyes widened.

"You gonna have to excuse me," he said, then muttered, "Goddamn little girls. Never shoulda let no females into the family."

He disappeared from the temple in search of the little goddess.

Elpis reappeared just as Re disappeared, looking pleased with herself for her quickness.

"I'm really sorry about all that," she said to the room in general. "I was... Where's Re? and Ruina?"

She looked at Ate, who looked seriously unhappy, then at Nephthys, who looked a completely different kind of unhappy, then at Seth, who just looked... crazy.

"Shit," she said. "What'd I miss?"

She scowled at her amazing reappearing sister, and headed for the door, pausing for a moment to look at Nephthys.

Nephthys smiled and nodded to Ate, in order to keep from giving her the most bewildered look in the world. What in the name of Lillies was she talking about? She didn't know Ate, and didn't know what she referred to. But she was gone before she could ask.

Following Elpis to the door, she smiled weakly to the remaining Greek.

"Be well," she said softly.
