For the first time in my life I have a proper tree skirt
The backing is a white cotton light weight canvas which helps give it some body. You can see here that it is has a more heavy drape that you wouldn't get from just the cotton seasonal prints.
It doesn't show well in the picture but the snowflakes on green are sprinkled with silver glitter and the holly pattern on the cream fabric is gold glitter. Almost done, I just need to put a binding finish on the inner circle and a tie to join the two ends - but I have to go back to the store in the morning to pick up the materials. Either the free online pattern was wrong or my measuring was wrong because I'm short about 20 inches, LOL!
I was able to use my sewing machine for everything except the red trim which is hand stitched. I could't figure out how to get the foot adjusted to work with the thick material! Still learning, but finishing by hand was no bother.
