Being a bit more social this week which is nice for the holidays. Met up with the online Food/Wine group, walked through the park with friend KY (five juvenille eagles flew right over us!), and tomorrow we zoom with old college friend EricG. I know I said I wasn't going to work, but ended up publishing an online course anyway. That was just updating the syllabus, tidying up the modules and writing a welcoming announcement.
We've been working through leftovers to make space for upcoming holiday cooking. Roast duck on Monday for Solstice, and then leftovers will become Asian noodle dish for Christmas Eve which I almost prefer. For Christmas proper Geoff scored a 4 lb Kobe Chuck Roast - now that is way more than we can eat so we carved 1/3rd off and popped it into the freezer for a stew or maybe fajitas later in January. We'll have that with Yorkshire puddings and roasted mixed winter vegetables. I just bought a plum pudding at Cost Plus World Market for dessert. What can I say, I am in the mood to set something on fire this holiday season and we should all be glad I am going to be satisfied with just the sweets.
Missing theater so much went in for a bit of a splurge and got a ticket to zoom
A Christmas Carol streamed live from
The Old Vic in London. London's on lock-down, but the show is in full-swing and getting great reviews, and I could really use a fresh take on the classic. Tuesday's 7 p.m. show will play at 11 a.m. here and I am probably way too excited about it - but YESSS!!!!
