Softball Ramblings

Ok, I played softball for a local bar for all of last summer and much of the fall.  All in all, it was a good time.  I'm older, and out of shape, if I'm honest with myself, but I've played ball since I was 6.  That's a long freaking time.  I've played, I've coached, I've umped.  And now I find myself worrying about playing this season.

I play on a co-ed team, and played 2nd base.  Not my favorite place to play, but a place to play nonetheless.  The shortstop (SS) was this pretty boy athlete that was an ass.  The last game I played, was because this asshole, decided that he was allowed to stick a softball bat on my, no other way to say it, my asshole.  Yes, I felt so cheap and used, it just wasn't even fair.  Well, I proceeded to cuss him up onside and down the other.  Dropping the f-bomb A LOT.  Yes, that's right, at a community event, the pastor was cussing someone out.

Good News now in!  I have just learned that SS will not be returning to our team because we're not good enough for him.  You see, the person who puts this team together, wants us to do well, but mostly wants us to have fun.  SS does not see it that way.  So I am hoping that this will make our team all the more fun....at least I hope so.  This is how we ran our team in seminary and hopefully we will have some laughs, play some ball, and share some beer.  I feel as though I can breath a bit better now.

It still doesn't help the out of shape aspect of things, but I will go to the gym tomorrow because I need to go to the freaking gym.

Peace Out.
