LJ has been acting a bit funky lately with the whole not letting me edit my notifications (I think I had too many for it to keep up with) and whatnot, so I've started cleaning things up a bit. Thanks mostly to l_s_d_me it's come to my attention that some of my friends posts, notifications, comments and so on aren't getting sent to my inbox, email or even to my friends page the way they should be. You would think getting a Kindle would have filled my technology longing for a while, right?  Right?  WRONG!  I've been converting to pdf's and downloading my little brains out but it's still not good enough.

Lets talk geek for a moment. I like to download movies and TV shows off of amazon, on account of it being half the price of itunes merch.  But amazon's video files are all AVI's and WMA's, so I can't watch any of them on my ipod.

Does anyone know of a good media conversion site/program that can do large video files? All of the free ones I've found ( Read more... )

Finally set up my new computer yesterday and gah, it took forever. For some reason the PC didn't want to recognize that it had a monitor plugged into it or that the internet really exists.  Two phone calls to dell, one computer savy friend and 5 hours later I was able to take a look at Windows 7 for the first time.
