I just found out that the true word for what I am is pescetarian (the "sc" is pronounced "sk" in English despite the Italian root). I've known for awhile that I'm not a true vegetarian because I still eat shrimp and occasional fish or other crustaceans, but I didn't know what the word was. I’ve carefully avoided sautéeing spicy peppers while wearing contacts, but I must now add garlic to the list. I shouldn't say vegetarian cooking because the same thing would have happened if I had thrown in some diced chicken or shrimp. I've discovered how remarkably easy it is to throw a bunch of leftover vegetables with some olive oil and spices in a skillet and stir-fry them for a few minutes to make a quick dinner.
