PHONE (public);

[the first words spoken are in French. it’s measured-sounding, clearly a recitation or something being read aloud.]  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek; and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [the sound of pages being turned. there’s a small, irritated sigh, and the speaker switches back to English.]

Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.  ...Hm.  What a joke.

ACTION;

A) Charles is standing in front of the Church of Salvation, bible in hand. Though he’s passed by it a few times by now, he’s never felt an urge to explore the interior and this is the first time he’s so much as walked up the steps. He seems somewhat hesitant to enter, though, looking bitter and lost in thought.

B) Deciding that the park is a much nicer place to mope, he can be found resting beneath one of the trees, standing at the edge of the pond or lounging around on a bench. Horace/William/Droolbeast tagged along and can be found there too, lolloping around and scaring off drones. Every so often it’ll amble back to Charles, who tosses something at it to munch on. That something may or may not be vaguely limb-shaped...

C) After buying as many classical records from the record store as he could find, he’s taken it upon himself to stop directly outside of the door, spreading the assortment out across the whole sidewalk to look through it for a few particular albums. Oh, you need to get past? Too bad, he is taking his sweet time.
