School again...

...half term was so great. Why do we have to go to work? Why can't everything be free and children could just learn by osmosis or something...

I am knitting such a pretty scarf. That is what I want to be doing now...

Boo-hoo.

knitting, school

I know that feeling. I ought to go to bed so I'm fresh for work, but I've only three and a half rows of my Colonnade shawl to do and I really want to finish it!

Oh, you should definitely finish it...three and half rows is nothing! Go, go, go! :)

:-D Two and a half to go now! Nearly 300 stitches on the needles, mind...

My next project's going to be one of them... Which pattern are you using?

It's a Koigu Shawl (from Knitty City-free pattern).

Really simple: Cast on (about) 300 stitches on size 4 (American) needles.
Knit 6 rows.
Row 1: K1, *YO twice, K1; repeat from * to end
Row 2: K1, *drop YOs, K1; repeat from * to end
Rows 3-6: Knit

Knit two extra rows at the very end and bind off loosely with size 10s.

Change colours whenever you want on the garter stitch sections. I've got 5 skeins of Koigu in different greeny shades...

Ooh, that sounds lovely. I finished, but then ran out of yarn halfway through the cast off. Either have to buy more yarn or do it in the contrast...How frustrating!

Oh, that is seriously irritating. What if you tinked back one row?

That's what I did in the end - a new skein of the Adriafil Llama would probably have been at least a tenner! It's done though, just needs blocking.
