You know, based on the tone of Kara's voice, Ami decides she really doesn't want to know. Really. She knows that expression, too. "That's fine. I'm not a very good teacher, but I get the job done when I have to." She smiles, a little self-deprecatingly. "But then, you can do a lot of things when you have to."

Well, not to their face, anyway. But Kara carries a lot of guilt for having gotten one of her students killed, so no, she probably won't criticize either way.

Said weapon is a two-handed sword, about six feet long and two feet wide, with a large cross engraved into a surface. It looks like it weighs a ton, which only makes it harder to accept the fact that Ether is casually dragging it along the ground with one hand.
"I know a thing or two about swordplay," He comments blankly as he raises his hand and cups his chin. "Granted, I don't usually train people in it."

Kara's not even going to try to work out whether or not this is the Ether she's met before; alternates make her head ache.

And anyway, she's got enough volunteers to choose from that even if she only gets one lesson from each of them, it'll give her an idea of what works and where to go next.
