"That's an interesting sword," Alec says, looking at it curiously. "What's it made of?" He's got a longsword on his back and looks like he knows how to use them. "And you really shouldn't hold it like that."

"Not one clue," Kara replies, with a shrug. "I got it last night when I helped kill some kind of demon... monster... thing who tried to take my arm off with it." She's got a bandage covering a cut on her shoulder to show for it; thank the Gods for quick reflexes.

"How else should I hold it?" Kara replies, quizzically. She's holding it by the right end and figures you stick the pointy end in things; the rest is all just details!

"Good way to get a weapon, so the stories say." He pulls out his own sword and shows her how he's holding it, "See, like this, you have keep it balanced in your hand, other wise you might strain something or hurt yourself, and this way you can switch to two hands easily, which gives you more force when you swing."

"Yeah, so they say," Kara replies, a bit thoughtfully. She'd recovered a weapon of legend from her own world, and it had turned out to be more significant than she'd ever dreamed possible, though not as a weapon in and of itself.

She adjusts her grip on the sword as demonstrated, and nods.

"Hm, yeah, not bad. Thanks for the tip."

Those are always fun.

"You're welcome. I could show you some exercises...? Not really lessons... as I'm still learning myself, but they're good to build up arm strength."
