Not to defend Twilight's sins, but I'd love to see the same amount of social comment and concern over the stuff teenage boys are watching and reading and playing. Harmful depictions of women aren't just harmful to women.
Also in entirely unrelated news, AV Club has a decent
Gateways to Geekery for Terry Pratchett which would be useful for anyone who's considered taking on Discworld but been lost for where to start. (I'd disagree on the implied dismissal of the non-Disc stuff, though, as the Nome trilogy is great and Nation is a brilliant book. Definitely worth reading. Maybe not as an introduction to Pratchett, that's all. Oh, and the 'Death series' is probably more a 'Susan' series as it goes on and for some reason she doesn't get a mention.)
