(no subject)
I'm in a rare Star Wars fanfic-reading mood, but of course everything I click on seems to be either an AU of an AU or OOC mush. In fairness, it probably doesn't help that my fic craving is ridiculously specific, like 'Anakin and the Jedi and slavery, post TPM' or 'Luke, Leia, Han wartime bonding during the OT'. Sure, that'll be on the first page of FFN. Right there under the one about Han's long-lost Force-sensitive cousin.
Voyager is on later. Trying to get my sister into Trek and I sold her Voyager as "Well, you know how the characters on TNG are all sort of... calm and competent and reasonable all the time? Voyager, not so much." (Disclaimer: I love both series, but I warmed to the endearingly unbalanced VOY characters faster than the frighteningly rational TNG characters. And at least on VOY, for all its flaws, the female characters get to... do things. Other than be stalked by the alien of the week. Poor Deanna Troi.)
Ooh, AND - Sherlock series 2 episode 1 has an airdate, for anyone who cares and hasn't heard yet - 1 Jan 2012. FINALLY. I look to fandom exploding over the first one...
