Dec 20th: Wonderful Time (GW)
Title: Wonderful Time

Summary: Less a story and more a moment. Post-dinner marshmallows.
Too full for something as frivolous as moving, they’d long ago stretched out in front of the fireplace. A few of them were burping quietly, and other dozing in a food induced coma on the sofa. Duo though was busy trying to toast marshmallows on the open fire.
“How can you still be hungry, Maxwell?” Wufei demanded, idly kicking the braided ex-pilot. There was too much turkey and gravy in him to really get any momentum behind it though, and his target just shrugged it off.
“’M not really, but I could really use something sweet.”
“We had three desserts.” Quatre pointed out, flopped boneless across the sofa with his feet on Heero and his head on Trowa’s lap. Having never really celebrated the holiday before, the sheer amount of food was hitting him hard, and he had to fight against the soothing movement of Trowa’s fingers through his hair to stay awake. “You had something sweet.”
“Yeah, but not marshmallows.”
“You’re an idiot.”
“Love ya too, He-chan.”
Silence descended and the smell of cooking marshmallow started creeping through the room, tempting and sweet. Duo smirked to himself, hearing the shifting on the sofa behind him. There was another marshmallow laden stick over the flames before Trowa spoke up.
“Can I try one of those?”
“Trowa!”
“Maxwell I can understand, but you’ve always been more sensible.”
Trowa just shrugged and reached out for the somewhat browned stick of sweets.
“I’ve never tried it before.” He admitted, solicitously offering Quatre the first bite.
They were full and warm, but they still managed to stay up for hours after. Duo burnt more marshmallows of the slowly dying flames and handed them around to his friends. Together they saw in Boxing Day, each and every one of them feeling slightly sick but mostly content.
