Just as inexplicably, the Colts won a second playoff game on the strength of their defense. Who would have thought that Indianapolis would win two games in a row were Peyton Manning had thrown only two touchdowns versus five interceptions. They won a game this week without a single touchdown, on the leg of the Patriots' old kicker. They again held a top-class running back well under one hundred yards. The defense also generated a total of four turnovers, to offset the Colts own turnovers. So on Sunday they will be either hosting the Patriots or visiting the Chargers, pending the outcome of today's game between the two. Also the Saints advanced to the NFC championship game by knocking off the Eagles. They are this year's "Cinderella" team, having an horrible season last year compounded by Hurricane Katrina, to surge this year to the second seed in the NFC. They will either host the Seahawks or visit the Bears pending the outcome of the game I am currently watching.
The channel A&E has starting running THE SOPRANOS. I've seen up to about halfway through the third season. Since it is basic cable, though, they do edit for language. It seems like the only big difference is replacing fucking with freaking. I liked the show a lot, though, and may put up with the censoring.
I just completed the first dungeon in Twilight Princess. I am having some difficulty still in getting my hands to control the game naturally. I think I am improving though, and sometimes my wife has issues too and she has played it a lot more than I have. The Wii controller though is probably the biggest change since going from Atari to NES. It is a bigger difference than the innovative Dual Shock for the Playstation. The viceral element is really amusing. Sometimes an enemy will surprise me and I'll just start flailing with the Wii remote to swing the sword. Sometimes though you feel like you are doing the motion to do an action, and there is a disconnect with what you think you ought to be doing and what Link is actually doing. I'd imagine this could be an issue for a lot of Wii games, and game designers will have to take that into account. I'd like to try out the first person shooter Red Steel, though it is supposed to be a fairly poor game. I'd also like to at least try the Madden game for it. We want to buy Marvel: Ultimate Alliance because we like those co-op action RPGs a lot.
Later!
