"Today is the second day of the most holy time of year, Footballmas. My much-suffering Colts gave me a present yesterday by slaying those nefarious Kansas City Chiefs. Bewielderingly they did this despite fearless leader Peyton Manning throwing three interceptions, two to his old nemesis from the New England Patriots, cornerback Ty Law whom he once threw three out of five INTs in a playoff loss too. The maligned Colts defense easily had one of the best games I have ever seen from them. Besides the one scoring drive, the Colts defense played a nearly flawless game. In the face of all predictions, they completely shut down star Kansas City running back Larry Johnson despite having the worst run defense in the NFL. The Colts also had a good offensive running game. I hope Manning settles his ass down some before next week against the Ravens. I think the Colts can beat them as long as they keep the errors to a minimum. But already this postseason is better than last year, as Indianapolis achieved one victory. Also last night the Cowboys muffed a short field so allowed the Seahawks to hold on for a one point victory. This morning the Patriots handily defeated the Jets, looking typically Patriot-like. And just this moment the Eagles knocked off the younger Manning and his Giants with a last second field goal."

That's from a saved draft from an unfinished entry.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Hot Topic, and I noticed a t-shirt with what appeared to be a black guy with a rather large afro and a samurai sword emblazoned with the words "Afro Samurai." Interestingly enough it turns out this is a new animated show, with the main character voiced by none other than Samuel L. Jackson. Amanda found out while watching Star Trek on SpikeTV, the channel on which this show airs. I missed the first episode, but they are reairing it before the second episode. From the promo the show looks somewhat similar to Samurai Champloo, so I'm pretty excited to see this one.

I finally got around to playing Zelda on the Wii yesterday. The controls definitely take some getting used too. My initial reaction though is to give a thumbs up to the viceral thrill of actually swinging the remote to swing the sword, and aim the ranged weapons. I am not very far into the game, and already I can see why it has gotten nearly perfect reviews from every source I have seen.

Speaking of games, Amanda and I traded in a load of old games along with the Gamecube and ended up with $150 of credit, and we have some more games we may trade in. Amanda is tempted me with the idea of putting that money toward an Xbox360. The best thing about the 360 is that I wouldn't have to buy hardly any games, since my Dad has one and will snap up each shooter as soon as it is released. The game that tempts me the most is the upcoming Bioware sci-fi RPG Mass Effect. If they announced a version of Assassin's Creed for it I would probably be even more tempted. But in the end I am just not sure I'd get that much use out of it. I several games from the other systems that I have barely played, if at all. But then again, if I could get one of them for around $200... Hrmmm. Heh.

Yesterday morning I had to go to a dentist appointment I had forgotten about. I couldn't even remember what it was for, I have had so much dental work done recently. It was to get my right upper wisdom tooth yanked. It went just fine, but it seemed to want to bleed a lot. I went to sleep with gauze in my mouth, and when Amanda got home from work and woke me up (my mom kept Molly today) I rolled over and spit out a mouthful of blood. So I had to drive back to the dentist to get checked out. The clot was somewhat pulled out, but at least it was still clotting. I did call in to work though because I was afraid it would start bleeding at work or the clot would come out before it has set good. I have to go back to the dentist yet again on Tuesday for a filling, and I believe I need two more fillings soon. My mouth is like a science project.

Later!
