Whew. I had another journal on LJ before the days_unfolding one, under the name of "adriennerad," which is the name that I use across the Internet. I thought that it was backed up to Dreamwidth, but I discovered it wasn't. So I just used blogbooker to save it in case LJ goes down, and backed the PDF file up to Evernote. I'm breathing more easily.

I've been looking for a good guidebook to Illinois, and I've not been finding much. There are a bunch about Chicago, but not the rest of the state. Maybe that means that I should write one :) I'm semi-serious about that. Working title: The Other Illinois: Get Out of Chicago and See the Rest of the State! I've been watching the coverage from London on CNN's live streaming feed for hours (six people killed, 30 injured; three attackers shot dead; eight minutes elapsed time from the first call to the police to shooting the attackers--way to go, Metropolitan Police). Damn. Following the updates. (You'd think that I'd know what the time change is to London by now, but I had to look it up.)

I think that it's only a matter of time until we have such attacks here.
