Lake Dreams

Overslept, but got my butt in gear.

Got the extended timeline for the conversion project on which I'm working at work. Now I can plan my time over the next year.

Flipped through an interesting book: Proud: My Fight for an Unlikely American Dream about a female Muslim-American fencer who medaled at the Olympic Games. I want to read that book.

I have to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow (well, okay, 7 AMish) to cover for my boss when he goes to a meeting. I researched alarm clocks, and Walmart has one that's supposed to be loud, so I'll go get it tonight.

Walmart didn't have the alarm that I wanted, but they had one of those mechanical alarms with the bells. That should wake me up, especially if I place it near my ear.

Another retirement thought: buy a cheap house in Saint Clair Shores in the Detroit area, which is near a lake, and snowbird to Florida. Also looked at Traverse City, but it's kind of pricey. I did find a Traverse City condo that I would snap up if I was in the market right now. (It's right on a lake.) Muskegon is near Lake Michigan and is affordable. The only thing is that a former boss of mine has ties to both Muskegon and Orlando, and I don't want him to think that I'm stalking him :) A cottage by a lake in the summer and Florida in the winter sounds wonderful. Note to self: Manstee, MI is affordable.

Got nighttime chores done (dishes, putting wet clothes on the drying rack, putting clothes out for tomorrow) and set the new clock. Need to crash soon.
