International Snowbird
Kitty Drama during my conference call: Zara jumped up on the windowsill in the kitchen. Mimi didn't like that one bit, and was thinking about jumping on the freezer to get to Zara. I was chasing Mimi around--still on the phone. Sheesh.
I don't get it. Some Web sites say that if you want to snowbird, stay in a country that's cheaper than the US. They suggested Costa Rica and Mexico (Playa del Carmen), so I looked at them. The housing prices didn't seem cheaper than Florida. (Florida is really cheap. And I speak the language :)) Maybe the food is cheaper, although I read a blog post that said that isn't necessarily the case either. Some day, I'll figure this out. Okay, Panama is cheaper. So is Nicaragua, though that makes me a little nervous.
I read part of the book about The Villages in Florida, and I definitely don't want to live there. They seem to have stolen "the happiest place on Earth" from Disney. Their radio broadcasts say, "Another beautiful day in The Villages!" Their paper isn't allowed to print bad news. People tend not to read outside papers. And it attracts partiers. I'd be the "Bah, humbug" person.
Zara has been picking at her food, and I'm worried. I think that it has something to do with Mimi because she ate some while I was "guarding" her from Mimi. She also ate some dry food. Someone did eat her wet food this morning, but it might have been Mimi after I left. I'll keep an eye on her and take her to the vet if this keeps going on. x-posted from Dreamwidth
