No Paris :(
Oh crud. I thought that I registered for New Year's Eve 2025 in Paris, but I registered for this year. (I midread the "2025" in the description.) That won't work. I just canceled it and need to wait until the New Year's trip for 2025 posts on their Web site. Did I say crud? That cost me some money. Oh well.
I forgot to mention yesterday that the handyman for my mom’s house wanted to order the new garage door, so I sent the invoice to the trust. He’s going to come up with an estimate for fixing the back of the garage. He said that he can hire landscapers to rake the lawn after the estate sale, and he could clean out the pond. Awesome. One less thing to keep in my mind.
I was pleased with myself last night. I did a bunch of tidying and chores before going to bed. I need to allow myself a half-hour before I go to bed for tidying, etc. If I get in the habit now, I can carry it over to the new house. But I'm tired this morning and really want a nap.
I found a couple of good articles on choosing fish for an aquarium. I'd like a 55-gallon tank if it'll fit. I received my aquarium books. It occurred to me that there probably was a Reddit for tropical fish, and I joined it. I already have a question. Hmm. Now I’m thinking two aquariums, one for downstairs under the stairs and one for upstairs.
Now I’m thinking that I could put some of my exercise equipment upstairs in the new house. It’s a fairly large space. And I’d have no excuse not to exercise after work.
I was about to take my lunchtime nap and I was putzing around and pouring soda. Mimi emitted a cranky MEOW! Get into bed and snuggle, Mommy! Zara's new spot is on the rocking chair in the living room. I was debating whether to take it, and I guess that I will. Zara still likes cherry turnovers. I was eating one, and she jumped up, and I gave her a little piece of the pastry part, which she gobbled right down. Silly cat :) I ordered two new litter boxes with high sides. Mimi has been pooping in the TV room, and it occurred to me that I should put a litter box in there. And Zara flings litter like she's throwing a shotput, so I thought that the high sides might help.
I also am putting Vancouver on the possible list for 2025. I've wanted to go there for a long time, and Mom's friend Kate said that I could stay with her at her place on Vancouver Island. But I might need to go over Spring Break, which makes me think that Charleston/Savannah might be the best place for that time of year. I'll be out of school the second half of May too, but we add new libraries to our consortium at work during that time of year.
I'm tired, and Mimi is telling me to come up to bed, so I'll get up early to do stuff. I need to do some tidying and packing.
I skipped my next BistroMD delivery because I'm not dieting right now. I wish that there was a way to pause the subscription.
