Harry loved fireworks. The first November they’d been together they both wrapped up warm and went to see a display that Muggles were putting on in their local park. Draco hadn’t understood the fascination, but it was worth the hours in the cold to see Harry grinning broadly, gripping his hand tightly through their mittens, his excitement radiating. The start of November used to fill Draco with joy, but now it sent a sense of dread. As the sparks fell toward the ground, so did Draco’s tears. He placed the flowers on his lover’s grave, and walked into the night.
