Still raining. Demelza didn't have horseback riding because of the wet--and we were both okay with that. lol
I did something today that I have never done before! Looking in my closet before the ICN Christmas lunch, I despaired of what to wear. My only really dressy/festive sweater (red with a black swirl across the front) is undoubtedly older than Demelza. I do buy clothes every now and again, but most recently it was new scrubs, a gypsy top, and a flowered cardigan, none of which were right for a semi-fancy lunch. So I went to Target, hit the clothes area and bought a green sweater/jumper (American or British, take your pick) decorated with rhinestones and earrings that matched perfectly. Also, a blue t-shirt to go with the flowered cardigan that doesn't match anything. Slipping into the restroom, I cut off the tags (yes, I did pay for the sweater) and changed into my new outfit--plus the earrings. As I was leaving Target, a woman coming in complimented me on my sweater! I could honestly say, "Thanks, I just bought it."
The lunch was nice--lots of retired nurses whom we hadn't seen in a while, plus two of the newest. I sat with them. lol--easier to talk to than the women I haven't spoken to in ten years or more! Brucshetta was yummy, really good salmon, and overly vinegar-y salad (which I mostly didn't eat.) Got lost going home because, yes, my sense of direction is that bad--even when I know, mostly, where I am. Got home about the time we would have left for horseback riding, which was why I was glad it was too rainy to go. Since I'd skipped the tiramasu, I hit the box of See's a friend gave me last week and had numerous pieces before taking a nap. (getting lost takes it out of me.)
Finished my Pros story due to be posted on Saturday. YES. Now, I should dabble in the--what--four--sitting on the desktop, and think about the plot of what hopefully could be a Pros Big Bang.
Watched the Pentatonix Christmas special and was surprised that they didn't sing their version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" that my sister showed me yesterday (gorgeous). Otherwise, fun show.
I know you will all be so happy that I did finish The Crimson Petal and The White on Tuesday and immediately dove into Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult. Off to read more now.
