Proposal: No NFL games on the Sundays before and after Thanksgiving. All 32 teams would play on Thanksgiving Day, 2 games at a time starting at 6:00 AM EST. Every three hours another game would start. The last games would end just as the stores open on Friday morning. The early games could be played in Europe and the late games in Hawaii, Japan, maybe even China. The NFL would get their international games, and the fans should get a couple of good games on Thanksgiving. Just a thought.
The Thanksgiving games are NOT reflected in any of the following.
As always, no critical thought has gone into these ratings. I just run the numbers (average margin of victory, "corrected" for schedule strength, +100). Approximate point spread can be found be finding the difference between two teams ratings. Occasionally it is accurate.
1 New England Patriots 114.18
2 New Orleans Saints 113.94
3 Indianapolis Colts 111.44
4 Baltimore Ravens 107.94

The "Tragic Number" race continues to heat up!
Tampa and Detroit have both been eliminated from their respective division races. Carolina, Cleveland, St. Louis, and Tennessee are teetering on the edge. Chicago, Atlanta, and houston are also in grave danger. I have yet to calculate the Wild Card Magic/Tragic Numbers (combination of leading team wins and trailing team losses required to eliminate a team from playoff contention. Maybe I'll spend my next sleepless night on that project. Everybody needs a (very quiet) hobby, right?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0
Detroit Lions 0
Carolina Panthers 1
St. Louis Rams 1
Cleveland Browns 1
Tennessee Titans 1
Chicago Bears 2
Atlanta Falcons 2
Houston Texans 2
Washington Redskins 3
Seattle Seahawks 3
Buffalo Bills 3
Jacksonville Jaguars 3
Oakland Raiders 3
Kansas City Chiefs 3
Green Bay Packers 4
San Francisco 49ers 4
NY Jets 4
I'm a "foul-weather" Chiefs fan, at best. I tend to cheer for them more when they are doing poorly than when they are doing well. Probably comes from being a diehard Bronco fan. I'm really enjoying the post-LJ era. Is it any surprise that KC upsets the Steelers after they ditch LJ? Well, OK, it was still a surprise. How about the Bungles losing to the Raiders after acquiring him? Maybe not as surprising.
I'd love to see the Chiefs upset the Chargers' apple cart this week.
