Today was the last dy of any Xmas shopping. I popped into town to get some provisions. I also bought a catnip toy for Riley (Mike's cat) and then I'll wrap it up as a pressie beofr I go on Sunday.
I then caught the Hopper Bus to Aldi to get the whisky and some wine for the festive period. I walked form there to the Elephant pub. I had not ventured into that establishment for many years and it was close enough for the bus stop to get me back home. I had a pint of Burning Sky Aurora ale, which there was £4.20 a pint.
I arrived home on the school bus service but it was virtually empty. The kids must have left school earlier.
Last night I had some beers with my mate, Phil, at my local pub. He dropped me home afterwards and gave me a big gift bag of cheese biscuits, a selection of cheses, a bottle of wine and a bottle of Jura malt whisky plus something else which was wrapped up andonly to be opened on the day.
I must also thank everyone fro the Xmas cards I received, especially from
grondfic,
adafrog and
qwentoozla. These are very much appreciated. I am too late in sending Xmas cards now ,so a New Years one may suffice.
I think I have covered everything else, and apart from one last trip (to Gravesend to do a final mobile phone job) I am now almost ready for the week ahead.
