Wednesday Wanderings

It was another warm sunny day reaching about 24C, but it has been very windy. As windy as my posterior after a curry!

Most of the morning was taken up with shuffling around some of my CD boxes and drawers, and looking for that CD Malcolm had inquired about. I saw him later and he said it is not the CD she was interested in but the album - she likes the cover and wants to put it on a wall. I told Mal that the LP is three times more expensive and a waste of the vinyl, and suggested he has a poster, assuming there is a poster of the alb u cover.

It is a cool cover that implies all the factors of the rave culture around it.

Anyway, later in the day, I walked into town hoping to pick up the latest Wire magazine. However, the newsagent did not have it as yet, and I suppose it will arrive tomorrow. Actually, I need to expand on this. the newsagent in Preston Street is closed, but the owners of it, now run the newly opened Misa convenience store on the opposite side of the road.

I then go to my local pub for the manager's special, a mixed grill that normally costs over eleven quid down to £7.50. It was delicious.
I then caught the Hopper Bus back home.

I might pick up a copy of The Wire tomorrow on my journey to Tunbridge Wells. I am meeting Lorna for lunch around midday, as she is travelling from Brighton. Tunbridge Wells is a kind of midpoint really. Lorna is travelling back to the Philippines next week, and as far as I can be certain, which I will confirm when we meet, not coming back. It is her homeland.

I do not blame her at the moment with all the troubles we had since the killing of those young children by that troubled person in Liverpool. It has been blown out of all proportion, and the murder has nothing to do with race, immigration, or whitey feeling he is becoming an endangered species.

So, as Phil Aston says (at Now Spinning Magazine) let the music be the healing power, and hence it is the on;y thing I think that can bring communities together. Multicicultuirism only works if you are mixed in with others rather than in separate ghettos, and pluralism is far better than racist fascist xenophobia.

Right, that's me done on the soapbox.
love to all.

So, let's get loaded and have a good time, like Primal Scream.
