Saturday Sonics
So, this morning I was getting a handle on some Handel - get it! I listened to the opera "Orlando" and before that an opera by Monteverdi called "L'Orfeo". Orlando overs three CDs and the version I have is by Christopher Horwood and The Academy Of Ancient Music. It is one Cd that I had for a good long while but not listed to all three discs. That is until this morning. It is a fine piece of music and a wonderful opera. It was released in 1991 and reviewed in The Wire magazine in August of that year.
I was going over to Canterbury to visit the Record Fair at Westgate Hall but due to the fact that I had a slight bad back problem, and that it is on every month on the first Saturday of the month, I will defer my visit to next month.
Lunch today was a delicious sausage and mash and downed with an Isla Negra Merlot wine.
I might watch a movie this evening. I have a few DVDs to watch which I bought from charity shops and not even got round to viewing.
