[ So Erik's gotten the feed mostly figured out, no thanks to some large amount of time tinkering with the damn thing and Charles being unhelpful helpful with his constant use of it to talk to several of the new arrivals. He focuses the feed onto himself, sitting at a table in the Jedi library, Charles is behind him, rifling through an impressive ( Read more... )

[Truth be told, unless the metals are particularly rare, Chewie could probably acquire them without any questions asked. Par for the course, really, even if he hasn't quite settled into the routine he and Han might have had with a ship that was really and truly theirs.

That not what he says, though. Instead he rumbles a comment about the fact that he's pretty sure most elements are the same from world to world.]

[ Where's Charles when you need him. Though Erik was fluent in a myriad of language, speaking Wookie was not one of them. He glances back at Chewie, raising an eyebrow, though not entirely surprised that he would be one of the first to respond to his offer. What he had seen over the datapad was more than enough convincing. ]

I'm inclined to assume you're saying yes, though I have a feeling it wouldn't be that easy.

[Judging by the expression on his face, it looks like he might be agreeing with the sentiment of things not being that easy. Of course, the fur does get in the way a little bit (and he's aware that it might), so he backs it up with a rumble to that general effect as well.]

[ Okay, Erik can work with this. Han's got nothing on him as a Wookie translator. ]

Right then. [ Let's back up. ] Since you're not agreeing with me, I can assume your comment is directed towards my uncertainty. Most things in space tend to be the same, planet to planet. Correct?

[Charles may, in fact, be just behind Erik, looking vastly amused at this attempt at communication. Erik had done so well with Hank after all.]

[ Erik can feel Charles near him, that warm body hadn't quite left his vicinity and turns around. He raised his eyebrows at that the expression on Charles' face, a clear question as to whether or not Charles would interfere or leave Erik to fend for himself. ]

[No no, not interfering, unless you say something to actually upset the Wookie, then he might intervene.

For the moment, however ... being amused.]

[ So helpful, Charles. Not that any of this disturbs Erik, who is perfectly capable of communicating with foreign species thankyouverymuch.

He turned back to the screen after getting shot down by Charles, though his trust in the man hasn't wavered in the slightest. ]

[He nods. That is generally the idea, yes.]

[ Success. Score one for Erik. ] In that case, it shouldn't be too difficult to procure what I need, I assume?

[Welllll in theory, yes. He doesn't know what exactly the metals are, but there's what sounds like it might be an affirmative note in the rumble this time. He'll have to find a 'seller,' of course. But it shouldn't be too difficult.]

In that case, I'm looking Osmium and Palladium. They're fairly distinct in their properties, though occasionally hard to come by, but I expect that shouldn't be hard for you.

[He nods yet again, to show that he's heard and understands the names of the metals. It'll take a bit of looking, yeah. But that's what they're good at.]

[ Okay. Good enough. ]

And a few other things, if you don't mind. A Tony Stark asked me to go shopping for him.

[This time the growl is a little more irritating sounding, but not so much so to imply that he isn't going to do it. It's just a mild irritation, and so he nods as if to say 'go on'.]

[ He frowns, clearly sharing the same displeasure; being someone's errand boy was the last thing Erik wanted.

Erik repeated a set list, word for word what Stark had mentioned, hoping it would make sense enough for Chewie to get the general gist. ]
