[ So Erik's gotten the feed mostly figured out, no thanks to some large amount of time tinkering with the damn thing and Charles being unhelpful helpful with his constant use of it to talk to several of the new arrivals. He focuses the feed onto himself, sitting at a table in the Jedi library, Charles is behind him, rifling through an impressive ( Read more... )

[Truth be told, unless the metals are particularly rare, Chewie could probably acquire them without any questions asked. Par for the course, really, even if he hasn't quite settled into the routine he and Han might have had with a ship that was really and truly theirs.

That not what he says, though. Instead he rumbles a comment about the fact that he's pretty sure most elements are the same from world to world.]

[ Where's Charles when you need him. Though Erik was fluent in a myriad of language, speaking Wookie was not one of them. He glances back at Chewie, raising an eyebrow, though not entirely surprised that he would be one of the first to respond to his offer. What he had seen over the datapad was more than enough convincing. ]

I'm inclined to assume you're saying yes, though I have a feeling it wouldn't be that easy.

[Judging by the expression on his face, it looks like he might be agreeing with the sentiment of things not being that easy. Of course, the fur does get in the way a little bit (and he's aware that it might), so he backs it up with a rumble to that general effect as well.]

[ Okay, Erik can work with this. Han's got nothing on him as a Wookie translator. ]

Right then. [ Let's back up. ] Since you're not agreeing with me, I can assume your comment is directed towards my uncertainty. Most things in space tend to be the same, planet to planet. Correct?

[Hey guys. Claire saw and heard Erik and therefore became very very interested in all this.]

What are you doing?

[Given that she's his eager little pupil, this is filled less with judgement and more honest curiosity.]

[ ... Just when Erik had no intention of breaking his rules to spread information, she comes along. He pursed his lips, contemplating whether or not he divulge any information to her. Erik looks over to Charles before turning back. ]

A harmless project, so to speak. You'll find out when I'm done. [ And Erik will leave it at that, not wanting to spoil the results so soon, because it is a rather tricky thing, full of multiple possibilities. He offers a thin smile, knowing their connection together, not entirely dismissive of her instant question. ]

[Harmless project, huh? Where has she heard this before.]

You sound like my dad, just so you know. You better show me when you're done.

[But she's still smiling all the same, even if her eyebrows are slowly arching at Charles' presence.]

I didn't know that you were friends with the creeper. [She pauses.] He knew my name before I ever introduced myself. There was no amount of backpedaling that could have saved him from that one.

[ Charles, what have you gotten yourself into? He'll remind Charles later not to go scaring the few people he can genuinely talk to. ] Well, Charles is rather special like that.

Be glad it's only your name, Claire. [ Erik smiles briefly, momentarily recollecting their first meeting and the sudden aftermath. It had been much more than Claire's name; Charles had found out his entire past. ] Though I imagine you two will warm up eventually, if you haven't already.

Rest assured, when I'm done, you can come see first hand.

Hardly.

Oh. Right. I suppose there's a real good reason to advertise your swanky list.

[You know, besides corporate conspicuous...whateverthefuck.]

Let me guess. Super-posh time machine. Inlaid case for your nukes.

I have my reasons as far as advertising them goes. And no, try again. [ You really are a persistent person, aren't you? ]

I have a list as well.

[ Don't you dare make an order without including me, young man! ]

[ ... Find your own sketchy smuggler. ]

I'm not paying for your necessities, Stark.

When two people go into business together, there is no point of having two separate orders. It all evens out in the end.

[ Tony does't want to deal with him personally. Geez...where is Pepper to do all this work FOR him? ]

I haven't agreed to fully go into business with you. I merely offered my craftsmanship skills. [ .... which is a really nice way of putting this, okay? It's not like Erik wants to steal with Stark, but apparently he has no choice -- the man was right after all. ]

What else do you need, then? [ Charles should be proud, look at Erik playing nice. ]

Although a dungeon could be useful in the future.

I wouldn't. They're not all they're cracked up to be.

[Okay, so maybe he's a little relieved. But still massively curious.]

So what are you making?

That's a shame, I'd imagine they'd have their purposes despite being outdated.

[ And nice try attempting to worm information out of Erik. He shakes his head, waving a finger in an effort to curb that line of question. ] Nothing you need to concern yourself with for the moment.
