Amane and Ootori

Sep 15, 2012 04:57

I have just witnessed something… interesting. Amane and Ootori do not appear to be the rebellious type, and yet I catch them prowling about at this hour. According to my copious experience regarding the matter, the only people who would rendezvous at such a time would be those who have something they wish to hide. …Naturally, this does not exclude ( Read more... )

Ootori is *such* a shady person, you have no idea |: Don't worry about them, they're probably just synchronized sleepwalking or something.

More importantly, is this green light you're talking about. Why do I always miss these things!? I knew sleep was a bad idea.

Shady indeed. I hear he is always conspiring to hug you. Akutagawa is usually in on it. Synchronised sleepwalking! What an interesting concept. There are records of some extraordinary behaviours among somnambulists, but never, I believe, simultaneous sleepwalking with an unrelated partner. ...I forget, do you believe in the concept of a shared unconscious?

Sleep is vital, Hiyoshi. Sleep deprivation and excessive tiredness are thought to increase the probability of sleepwalking, for one. But where was I? Ah, yes. The light. It suddenly came into view, distantly in the sky, and it fell rapidly down towards the jungle. For a few minutes there seemed to be a trail of green mist following the course of the light, like a signal flare in reverse. I was still trying to examine it when I heard people approaching - Amane and Ootori - and naturally, I hid from view as they came by. When I was able to retrieve my original vantage point, the light trail had disappeared. Does that tell you anything?

They're both shady characters. Akutagawa especially, you should be looking out for |< And of course I do, about shared unconscious. Maybe it's hard to tell through pixels instead of voice, but not *everything* I say is laced with sarcasm.

That tells me you had better have a good reason for hiding. Who cares if the two saw you-- GREEN LIGHT!! I know the realization of being watched makes one act forcibly unnatural and that you wouldn't get accurate data on those two, but notice above where I italicized 'More importantly,' because the light is, well, more important. Details please.

Mmn, I am well aware of Akutagawa's wiles. I have heard of, though miraculously not experienced, his iron grip. It is rumoured to have soporific qualities. Ah, very good! The shared unconscious is fine theory. Perhaps Akutagawa is using this very method to communicate with someone or something...
...I had not considered that you were being sarcastic, Hiyoshi, however I am now questioning as to whether or not you were in fact being sarcastic about not being sarcastic.

I apologise: it was not that I wanted to remain unobserved (although that is often at the forefront of my considerations), but rather that those two seemed as though they did not want to be seen. When I heard movement, I saw Amane peering around as if to make sure nobody was there. I had to hide - if they had something to do with the light, and they found me investigating it, I might miss my chance to uncover the truth. I have never before seen anything fall from the sky (no doubt you have?) but as a relatively uninformed spectator, I would have to say that that is ( ... )

Inui, you have way too much time on your hands to be spying on people that aren't doing anything interesting.

Pardon me, Momoshiro, but how else might you suggest I occupy my time until our rescue? Besides, I believe "interesting" to be a relative term.

Learn to build a boat? Plant some vegetables? Hunt for game?

Have you heard the expression, "Why keep a dog and bark yourself?" If I wanted a boat, I could challenge Amane to make one for me. If I wanted vegetables I would ask Kaidoh for some. If I wanted game, I'm sure I might come to an arrangement with Kite. But when it comes to wanting information on others, if I do not find it for myself, there is only Kyojyu and Konjiki who could supply me with that data... and as I said, their idea of what is interesting often differs to my own.

I was up, but I didn't see anything. I was focusing on my run.

Maybe it was a rescue plane ... Do those ever use green lights?

No, but I think UFO ships use green lights.

UFOs aren't real, idiot.

Hmm, that doesn't sound like something Davi would do. You're certain it was him you saw?

I will admit that the sky was only just beginning to brighten, and as you can imagine, my visual acuity is nowhere near your standards. However, the two of them passed very close by to where I was concealing myself. Moreover, I do not believe that there is another on the island with a similar hairstyle and build to Amane. Nor is there anyone else with a beard.

Well, that's true enough. He does have a very distinct hairstyle. Damn, I wonder what's going on?

So you cannot think of any reason he might act in this way? He may very well return soon and be able to tell us himself, however...

Suspicious persons must be apprehended immediately! D<
Do they pose a danger?

...Do Amane and Ootori pose a danger? Forgive my incredulity, Sanada, but you may as well have asked whether a box of orphaned kittens could be dangerous. As far as I am aware, those two are simply very tall and very quiet for the most part... I suppose it would depend on whether or not you might interpret that kind of behaviour as a source of danger.

He thinks giraffes and seagiraffes are dangerous, Sadaharu.

I'm positive you are far more dangerous at 4.37am than any imaginary greenlight. People just have primal urges, I believe.

...In that case, Amane and Ootori might be deadly. However, I don't think their loved ones would share such an opinion, so we must take care not to allow Sanada to become too attached to his idea of "apprehending" them.

Fufufu, Kyojyu, are you speaking from experience? Primal urges indeed. I resent your accusation that the light was imaginary. I resent it, but I decline to press the issue.
