Danger zone!
Successfully pitched a few stories to the news editors yesterday. Helps that (a) three tribes have elections later this year and (b) two enterprise pieces that ran Sunday and Monday provided an easy springboard for companion pieces from Indian Country. Still looking for a full-time gig, though.
Am participating in my first 5K next Friday. Thanks to a knee injury, Jake will not be joining me, but we've agreed to do one together after he's medically cleared. Am debating whether to do the next level of the couch to 5k program we've been doing, as another round starts in mid-May. We're supposed to be getting my mom's treadmill (no room for it in her new house), but the timeline keeps getting changed, so I don't know.
The child has decided that Jack's her new best friend. He's pretty tolerant of her "affection" (think lots of grabbing), although he's also started hiding a little more. He's also been bringing more "presents" in the house, including a huge-ass rat the other day. At least he knows he's part of the family...
