Accident Update
What the people in the other car get:
* their car fixed
* money from my liability insurance
Crane's Towing gets:
* money for towing it
* money for taking it off our hands
What the state of New York gets:
* their guardrail fixed
* money from my liability insurance
* $75 of my money for a fine
* $85 of my money for a surcharge
What I get:
* nothing
What I lose:
* my own vehicle
* self esteem
* sense of control
* money, money, and more money
So, because of something that I had no control over, everybody wins but me. And my plans to save money for things other than a car (my own editing system, better place to live, etc) have been erased, and I am back where I was two years ago, and the two years before that (and so on). I am too old for this. Therefore, be warned: If I ever get into an accident like that again, I'll make sure that I don't survive it. One has to break the cycle somehow.
