San Fran #3

Another very full day. This morning we walked up to Fisherman's wharf and took a tram down to the farmer's market. The trams are from all over the world, and our car just happened to be from Milan, Italy. Must be a sign or something. We wandered farmer's market and then had lunch in the same area. A big juicy hamburger. At least that is what Dave and I had. Amber was the good one and had a salad. Then we needed to get back to where the boat leaves for Alcatraz, so we took a pedi-cab. Amber and I rode, and Dave ran along, but he got there first. Anyway, the boat trip to Alcatraz only took 10 minutes or so, and then we had the tour there. It was narrated by former officers and inmates and was a fascinating tour. Took quite a few pictures. By the time we got back to San Fran from the 'rock', it was after 5, so we went to the store to pick up a few items and Amber and Dave are in the process of cooking dinner right now.

My feet are really sore, as there was a lot of walking. But I did not walk up the hill to the prison. Amber and Dave did, but I took their golf-cart type wagon up. On the way up, I was their only passenger. On the way down, there were two other passengers besides me. But even though I didn't walk up thehill, I sure did a lot of walking again today. I have sore feet, and my muscles ache. But it was worth it. It was a good day.

Tomorrow will be a concert by a Finnish choir at noon, and I don't know what else before I actually fly back tomorrow night.

After dinner tonight, we are going to try to get ahold of Kirsty. Haven't talked toher in a long time, and want to find out how her mid-wifery course is going.
