Last day started out rainy. Ended up pouring down so hard that a walk from the winery to the car left my slacks soaked clear through! But it was a good day.
Started out with a special "Dave breakfast", where he fixed wonderful poached eggs with ham and muffin and a fruit salad. Then we headed north to Sonoma for a concert/wine tasting at one of the wineries. The choir performing was a group of 30 guys from Helsinki, who did a wonderful performance. They had selected songs from several genre, and all were excellently presented. So it was really enjoyed.
Then after tasting the wine there, we went to thenext winery, and the next as well. Figured that after the 3rd winery, I'd better stop tasting, since I knew I had to fly inthe evening. Drove back into town and Dave drove me down Lombard street. Aaaagh! The steepest and crookedest street I've ever seen. Of course the BMW he was driving handled the curves quite well. Yes, I almost forgot to mention that the zip car they had for the day was a new BMW. Very comfortable too I might add!
They then dropped me off at the airport and then went on their way to work on preparation of their move. The move of all of their things in Vancouver down to San Fran where they now live. Talk about a tight turn-around. They just sold their place, and they are trying to get it all cleared out by this coming weekend, as the new owner wants to move in on the 15th. I don't envy them all they need to do for that!
It is now Monday, the 5th, and I need to go pick up Anahi from school, so I'd better sign off. More later on Steve coming in tonight.
