blackberry!
CT+M gave us two thornless blackberries for Christmas.
They lived through the winter in their snuggly wrapped parcel and we planted them about a month ago. We planted the first one along the edge of the yard under some high shade, but where it will get good sun. A lot of brambles seem to grow right at the edges of the woods, so I thought this would be good. And because there was a ton of hard clay there, we planted the other one near the deck, where it would get some bright shade, but also good sun. Both have taken off! We put netting around them just in case the deer like the leaves; I don't think they'll fruit in the first year. This is the one at the edge of the yard.
