Looks like I'll be getting some sleep tonight after all. The RFS just pulled up outside my house in a couple of firetrucks which was a bit of a worry, but when I went out and asked them what was going on, they've come to do a proper back burn of the east and south ridge, so I'm feeling much more secure now.
Apparently the fire on the other side of the east ridge has kicked up quite a bit again and they don't want my hamlet to suffer the same fate as Clarence did and there's still too much fuel left after the fire broke over into our valley.
So - got the firies outside, a couple of trucks should things go pear shaped and I'm planning on getting a bit of sleep! I'll most probably not have a good one, but some sleep is better than none. I've managed about five hours in the last 48 and when that's combined with stress and the poor air quality here at the moment, you start feeling pretty crook. I shouldn't complain really - my asthma has been behaving itself and I haven't even had a twinge of angina, although my eyes are very sore and my throat is the same, but everyone in the area has those symptoms.
I'm just very tired. So now I get the chance to sleep...YAY!
