Check out www.wechoosethemoon.org for streaming audio to experience the Apollo 11 mission as we did way back when. Unlike today's missions, we didn't have helmet cams and crisp video of EVAs. Those iconic photos weren't part of our culture until after the boys came home. All we had was crackly audio and ghostly black and white images. Apollo XII had a portable dish to send back improved color TV, but ended up with no TV when they accidentally burned out the picture tube. We almost didn't have live pictures, as it was really an afterthought..
