Adventfic #2 - Lunar New Year

Dec 04, 2013 12:18

beckyh2112 requested AtLA - Long Feng and Hyo-sir celebrating the winter equinox or whatever winter holiday of your choice.

"Shouldn't you be with your family?"

Long Feng had not looked up from his papers because his second-in-command hadn't made a sound when he entered the room. Nonetheless, Long Feng knew he was there.

"Shouldn't you be with your son?" the younger man countered, letting his amusement show in his voice.

Now Long Feng looked up, quirking a dark brow at Hyo. It was a rare man who put words to his true relationship with the king. Then again, Hyo was a rare man indeed.

"The King is spending some of the holiday with his concubines," he said.

Hyo inclined his head; a father-figure would hardly be appreciated at such a time. "Mi-Sun is getting Mi-Cha ready to visit her family."

Long Feng suppressed a small smile. "So you came to me?"

"I had some spare time to visit," the younger man said. He placed a steaming container on Long Feng's desk.

Long Feng raised a brow again. "Rice wine?"

"Imported from Kyoshi," Hyo clarified. And, to judge by the remnants of a seal, not smuggled into the city. "To toast the new year."

"I thought in Han-Guk they drink Soju," Long Feng said.

Hyo smiled. "We're not in Han-Guk, nor are we under the roof of my parents." He bowed formally and added, "Saehae bok mani badeuseyo."

Long Feng smiled. "Happy New Year."
