So, Spring is here. Even up here, it kind of is. Actually, yesterday was more spring-like- it was sunny all day, no wind, and I drove with the window down. Today it's been overcast. Still tons of snow. Sadly, the warm weather has thawed the chicken crap out in the hen house and I managed to carry a fairly large clod of it into the house on my shoe. Yippee, a gift from nature.
Tim has brought potting soil into the house for seed starting. I currently have the dining table occupied with a jigsaw puzzle, though. and the firewood is taking up the area we need to get to the light set up. So he's jumping the gun a little... still snow all over the ground except for on paths, too, so I can't start weeding or anything. We are suspended in time for a while.
Went to C's yesterday because his cat was plugged up again... enema time. Poor cat.
Finally got into town again on Friday. I've only been into town (other than to go put thing's up a cat's butt) twice since New Year's. I am SO far behind at hospice. Last time I was there five hours, this time four and a half hours. Did put a good dent in the pile Friday, though. A lot of the time lately what's kept me home was my IBS. There are bathrooms right outside the office, but that part is not the whole problem The rest of the problem is curling into the fetal position from bowel pain. Can't easily do that in the office. Well, it IS in hospital, but still.
Speaking of the hospital, they are closing the obstetrical services. No more women will be allowed to deliver a baby there. Why? Well, mainly because of the politicians who were elected last November who have now made it illegal to treat a lot of things, mainly abortions but also saving a woman who has an ectopic pregnancy, or who is having a miscarriage, etc etc. Now a woman in labor will have to add an extra hour of drive time before they get to an obstetric unit. (An hour when there isn't much traffic, an hour and a half if it's rush hour). These geniuses in Boise have also voted to make it illegal- like, felony and prison time illegal- to give anyone a vaccine that was created using mRNA technology. So, that means we'll have to drive to Spokane to get Covid boosters now. How many people are going to drive an hour, three hours, more, to get a vaccine?
