Christmas party season

Dec 20, 2012 12:19

Firstly I must note that I'm so glad that June is home and safe. Knowing that a friend is alone and could be in trouble is terrible. She seems so much better now though, we had a marvellous night at Electro Circus, watching all the performances. The circus type acts were a lovely touch, the whole night had a very vaudeville feel - my compliments to Vince for setting it all up. It was lovely to meet so many people again (for the first time or the first time since my accident). Howard, very good to meet you - even if you were a little under the weather! Very nice catching up with Vic and Gui, and Pete as well.

Tis the season for parties it seems - I've been invited to rather a lot of work functions and June was also kind enough to accompany me to one earlier in the week. I feel there's a lot of pressure to drink at these things, which I don't find ideal on a week night, so it's nice to have someone to remain sober with - it's not as if you need alcohol to have fun, as Dajve so rightly pointed out in her latest entry. There's another one this Friday for the IT department, which I've had an invite to, so I may indulge in a few pints at that one.

Work finishes for me on the 24th, although I'll be in between Christmas and New Year. I don't actually mind - it's been very rewarding as of late. I'm very much looking foward to Christmas with my family. It feels like it's been a long time.

I hope that everyone has a lovely Christmas, best wishes to you all and additional best wishes to Sasha and Joey, and Dajve and Mitch who have such a big year ahead.
