Today I found out the ugly truth. Not all AGP slots are created backward compatible. I purchased a ATI Radeon 9550 video card today during lunch. When I got home and tried to install it I realized the keys are different on my AGP slot. After reading the motherboard documentation I have AGP Rev. 1.0 which is not compatible with AGP Rev 3.0. So I need to return the video card. Thus my quest continues to find a video card compatible with AGP Rev. 1.0, Windows 2000, and Linux. I have a Nvidia GeForce2 200 MX video card which is compatible with two of the three, AGP Rev. 1.0 and Linux. I have tried 3 different drivers and cannot get it to work correctly with Windows 2000.
I also followed the lead Amber gave me about a video card Brian might have. It turns out he has a ATI Radeon 9600 which is not compatible either. Bah!!!
Tonight I also went to a LSF (Lutheran Student Fellowship) bible study. It was held partly indoors and partly at the intramural fields. I didn't bring my coat, but only shivered a couple times and had a blanket for wind cover. It was nice to get out in the fresh cool air tonight.
Love, sweet precious love, why do you escape my grasp at every turn? Wind blows with your softness and your chill echos my emptiness.
